This photo shows the scene of a total solar eclipse, which is about to end, during the third contact. At this time, the first Baily‘s bead happened to appear next to the prominences on the edge of the sun. This photo is presented in HDR format and almost covers all the characteristic elements of a total solar eclipse, including prominences, chromospheres, Baily’s beads, inner and outer corona of the Sun, earth shine (lunar surface), and background stars (dim to 10 visual magnitude or above). In this set of composite photos, the shortest exposure time is 1/800 second and the longest exposure time is 2 seconds, capturing the brightest and darkest parts of the image respectively, so that all details, especially the details of the corona, can be displayed very clearly. This year is a period of strong solar activity, with the corona more active and clear than usual, and high brightness.

Total solar eclipse and Baily‘s beads Sequence

In this sequence photo, on the left is the C2 moment, with the last Baily‘s bead gradually disappearing, the total eclipse starts. On the right side of the photo is the C3 moment, during which the first Baily’s bead appears as the total solar eclipse ends. In the middle, there is a total solar eclipse. In the photo, the solar prominences on both sides can be clearly seen.

The background photo records the scene of a total solar eclipse that occurred over Saint Georges, Quebec, Canada. How many people were watching a total solar eclipse? This photo was taken next to the parking lot of the small town supermarket. On the left side of the photo, my wife and I are observing a solar eclipse. She is holding a binoculars. On a hill on the right, four observers stand, with many people in front of them. Whether you believe it or not, I guess there must also be people observing the solar eclipse in that jet plane in the sky.
